Lynn Dixon, age 59, of Greenville passed away on Thursday, June 9th at ECU Health Greenville hospital after a brief battle with pancreatic cancer and its complications.
A graveside service is planned for 2:00PM Tuesday June 14, 2022, at Oakdale Cemetery in Washington, NC, conducted by pastor Kevin Whaley.
Lynn was born in Washington NC on December 05, 1962, to Dalmer and Betty Dixon. Growing up she enjoyed riding her pony Thunder, motorcycles, and loved all animals, well, with the exception of the goose that used to chase her when she was little. After high school graduation in 1980, she went to Milligan College for two years and loved the mountains, where she always hoped to retire. After returning to Washington, she attended ECU and worked at her uncle’s store and her dad’s HVAC business until finishing college. Upon graduation, she became an employee at what is now Thermo Fisher in Greenville and remained there until her untimely death. Her favorite pastimes were putting together puzzles, playing games, traveling, and spending quiet time with her life partner and dogs. At Christmas, Lynn was known for giving beautiful gift baskets filled with all sorts of goodies that she collaborated with her mother to prepare every year. At work she was loved by her staff and all those who worked with her, and was respected for her knowledge and willingness to help anyone.
She is survived by her partner of 37 years, Susan Bright, her parents, Dalmer and Betty Dixon, one brother, Dal Dixon Jr., and wife Andrea, one nephew, Britain Dixon, and her treasured dogs, Maddie and Marley.
In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to Daughters for Dads, 111 Goose Creek Dr., Washington, NC 27889.
