 Quebec natives Charles Guilbault, 22, and Charlotte Desilets, 21, passed through Washington over the weekend on the way to New Orleans. They are one month into their summer trip and have another month to go. The couple stopped by the Washington Waterfront Underground Railroad Museum and enjoyed the fireworks at Summer Festival Friday night. “it’s a beautiful, picturesque town with trees everywhere,” Desilets said. “Your historic homes are charming with all the decorations and we really enjoyed our short stay.”

The couple also offered a public thank you to Graham and Beth, a local couple who offered a place to stay for the. Night after meeting them at a local restaurant.

“We were pleasantly surprised by how friendly people were, Guilbault said. “We appreciated the hospitality very much.”

The duo will resume their music studies at a university near Montreal in the fall.
