Mr. James Henry McCoy, 68, of 679 Church St., Fairfield, died Saturday, March 8, 2003, at Pungo District Hospital, Belhaven.
A funeral will be conducted at 2 p.m. Saturday in Piney Grove Disciples Church, Columbia, with the Rev. Willie Werts officiating. Burial will follow in Fairfield Cemetery.
Mr. McCoy was born in Tyrrell County on May 25, 1934. He was the son of Easter A. McCoy and the late Henry McCoy. He was employed as a logger. He was married to Clara W. McCoy, who survives. He was a member of Piney Grove Disciples Church, Columbia.
Survivors include five sons, Felton Basnight of Edenton, Dana McCoy of Greensboro and Garriett McCoy, Harry McCoy and Kenneth McCoy, all of Engelhard; five daughters, Darlen O'Neal of Swan Quarter, Ellen Rudd and Cyndi O'Neal, both of Greensboro, Debbie McCoy of Raleigh and Vickie Borrus of Pleasant Garden, N.J.; one brother, John McCoy of Columbia; two sisters, Betty Murray of Columbia and Janie Carey of Washington; 28 grandchildren; and eight great-grandchildren.
Arrangements are by Rowsom Funeral Home, Columbia.
