Northside couldn’t hold a 7-3 halftime advantage at Camden County Friday night and lost, 16-14, in the season opener for both teams.

Senior Marcus Clayton scored both touchdowns for the Panthers and tallied a team-leading 73 yards on nine carries.

The defensive-minded Bears limited the Panthers to 145 total yards on 31 offensive plays.

Fullback Elijah Holloway tacked on 24 yards on eight carries and Carson Clinkscales had the only pass reception for five yards.
