Washington city officials have posted a survey to collect feedback from residents regarding the city’s comprehensive plan.

“The CAMA Comprehensive Land Use Plan will be forward-thinking and will align with the City’s vision and goals,” said Erin Ruyle, director of tourism and development. “It will serve as a guide for elected and appointed officials making significant land use decisions, decisions which will impact the entire community. The development of this plan will be driven by the community and will included the required elements of a CAMA Land Use Plan and include local elements that preserve community character.”

The survey is a follow up to the City’s CAMA Land Use Plan public input meeting on Aug. 25. It can be accessed from the city’s website at the following link: https://www.washingtonnc.gov/residents/cama_land_use_plan.php.

The survey is set to close Oct. 12 and will be followed by another public input meeting Nov. 3.

The city has a target of 1,000 responses to the survey, according to Community and Cultural Services Director Mike Dail. More than 100 responses had already been logged by Friday, Dail said.

Findings from the community survey will be presented at the Nov. 3 meeting along with discussion of the plan’s development, Dail said. Time and location has not yet been determined.
