Mrs. Virginia “Ginny” Daniels Williams, age 81, a resident of Washington, died Monday, October 10, 2022, at River Trace Nursing Home in Washington.

Funeral services will be held 11:00 AM Saturday, October 15, 2022, at the First Presbyterian Church in Washington, conducted by Rev. Lonnie Darnell. A reception will follow the service in the church fellowship hall. Burial will follow in Pamlico Memorial Gardens, Washington.

Mrs. Williams was born in Winston-Salem, N.C. on October 15, 1940. She was the daughter of the late Leo Thomas Daniels and Claudia Mae Smith Daniels. Mrs. Williams was a retired registered nurse. She served as nursing director at Martin and Beaufort County Health Department. Mrs. Williams also worked as a labor and delivery nurse at Beaufort County Hospital. She was a very active member of the First Presbyterian Church. Mrs. Williams loved to cook for family and friends. 

Mrs. Williams married Arthur James Williams III on February 18, 1961, who survives.

Mrs. Williams is survived by her husband, Rep. Arthur J. Williams III of the home; son, Arthur “Buddy” Williams IV, and wife Robin of Washington; daughter, Claudya Ann Williams of Washington; five grandchildren, Justin Michael Williams and wife, Ashleigh of Washington, Megan Renee Williams of Washington, Joey Thompson, Kayla Thompson, and Katie Thompson all of Oklahoma and one great grandchild, Brock Hayes Williams of Washington.

In addition to her parents, Mrs. Williams was preceded in death by a sister, Rita Daniels.

In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to the Beaufort County Community College Nursing Program, 5337 U.S. Hwy 264 East, Washington, N.C.  27889 or the Agape Health Services, 120 West Martin Luther King, Jr. Drive, Washington, N.C.  27889.

The family will receive friends from 6:00 PM to 7:30 PM Friday, October 14, 2022, at Paul Funeral Home & Crematory in Washington and other times at her home.
