During the early morning hours of Monday, October 24th, 2022, the owner of Frank and Shirley’s Restaurant was robbed and assaulted as he arrived at the restaurant to open for business. It appears the suspects in this case were lying in wait for him to arrive. During the incident the 75-year-old victim suffered severe injuries to his head and both arms.

Beaufort County Sheriff’s Investigators responded to the scene to collect evidence and to the hospital to interview the victim. The victim described his assailants as 2 white males. Thanks to the victim’s description, information from area residents, video surveillance from a local store and help from the Brunswick County Sheriff’s Office, Investigators have charged the 2 men responsible for this crime.

Justin Paul, age 29 of Shallotte NC and Gerald Don Adams Jr, age 50 of Washington NC have each been charged with Attempted First Degree Murder, Robbery with a Dangerous Weapon, Larceny from the Person, Attempted Larceny and Breaking & Entering a Motor Vehicle.

Both men were arrested yesterday by authorities in Brunswick County. They are currently being held in Brunswick County on a $500,000.00 secured bond.
