The Terra Ceia girls cross country team finished third and the boys were seventh in the North Carolina Independent Schools Athletic Association 1A state cross country meet at Hagen Stone Park near Greensboro.

8^th-grader Leah Harrison led the Knights girls with a 13^th place finish. She covered the hilly 5K course in 25:29, while classmate Ruthie Glass was 16^th in 26:09. 7^th-grader Lily Meijer finished 27^th in 30:10 to complete the scoring. The Oakwood School of Greenville won the 1A girls championship.

Pungo Christian’s Luke Rouse was the only Raider running and finished 12^th in the boys race. The sophomore finished the course in 20:25

8^th-grader Coby Alligood led Terra Ceia with a 15^th place finish in 20:51, followed by 7^th-grader Tanner Carawan in 16^th at 20:58. Sophomore Dustin Carrow was 29^th in 22:54, 8^th-grader Levi Wright finished 32^nd in 23:11 and classmate Lawson Holland was 34^th in 23:20. The Oakwood School also won the boys race.

“I was very pleased with the results from both our teams,” Terra Ceia coach Brandi Cagle said. “It was the first year we had enough girls to qualify as a team and they did great. Leah (Harrison) ran a personal best as did Dustin (Carrow). The boys cut 11 minutes off their total time from last year, which is a big improvement. It’s nice to see everybody’s hard work all season pay off.”
