Mr. Rudolph Gorham Sr.

Mr. Rudolph Gorham, age 89, a resident of 108 Whootentown Road, Washington, N.C., died peacefully on Friday, July 15, 2011, in the presence of his family.
A walk-through viewing will be held Friday, July 22, 2011, from 1 p.m. to 6 p.m. at L.R. Randolph chapel.
Funeral services will be conducted at 11 a.m. Saturday, July 23, 2011, at Loving Union FWB Church, 629 River Road, Washington, N.C., with Bishop Arizona Hartsfield officiating.
Mr. Gorham was the son of the late Ed and Lossie Gorham. After graduating from Washington city schools, he entered the U.S. Army where he served in the Armed Forces and was released on an honorable discharge. Mr. Gorham was a lifetime member of the American Legion. He was employed for over 42 years by the Town of Washington Park. He was mostly at home with his family, or you could find him at church or on his job. When not with his family, you may find him on the golf course with friends.
As a dedicated member of his church, he became a member of the choir.
Mr. Gorham is survived by his wife Edna F. Gorham; two daughters, Barbara Turnage and Juelene Gorham; one son, Rudolph Gorham Jr., and one sister, Edna Bethel of Magnolia, N.C.
Also surviving are his grandchildren: Quynetta Bryant, Cipporah Harris, Tiombe Nicole Gorham and Devon Lambert; great-grandchildren: Kareem Pierre´, Rashad Turnage, Samarri Griffin, Eon Hardy Jr., Marikah Turnage, Jeremiah Curtle, Kalethia Harris and Devin Lambert; great-great-grandchild: Ky’Moni Pierre´, and God-great-grandchild: Dakarai Sutton.
He was preceded in death by three brothers and one sister.
