On Jan. 27, 2023, investigators with the Beaufort County Sheriff’s Office Drug Unit arrested Robert Smith, 32 years of age, of 2081 Chandler Road in Chocowinity and Danielle Baker Smith, 30 years of age of 2081 Chandler Road in Chocowinity.

Robert was charged with two (2) counts of Possession with Intent to Sell and Deliver Methamphetamine, Conspire to Sell Methamphetamine, Possession of Fentanyl and Possession of Drug Paraphernalia. Danielle was charged with Possession with Intent to Sell and Deliver Methamphetamine, Conspire to Sell Methamphetamine, Possession of Fentanyl and Possession of Drug Paraphernalia.

Their arrest stemmed from investigators making a purchase of Methamphetamine from Robert and Danielle. Investigators served arrest warrants and found Robert in possession of Methamphetamine and Fentanyl. Danielle was found to be in possession of Fentanyl.

Robert and Danielle were confined in the Beaufort County Detention Center under a $500,000 secured bond. Robert and Danielle were currently on pretrial release for Federal Drug charges.
