Beaufort County Post 15 has been a dominant force throughout the Junior American Legion season so far. After starting the season 3-2, they have won eight straight games moving them to 11-2 on the season.

“Everyone knows their role now,” head coach Bobby Boyd said. “Our pitching has been really good and we are playing some great baseball right now.”

They will wrap up the regular season next week as they finish away from home against Wayne County. This game was supposed to be played at Washington High School but due to weather and field conditions, it was moved to Goldsboro.

If the game was not able to be made up, it would have been a loss for Post 15. Boyd wanted a loss to come on the field instead of by a rule, so they moved the game to the road to prevent a loss.

Post 15 is 8-2 in conference play and both losses came at home to conference opponents. They are undefeated on the road and are looking to finish the year without a road loss.

Once the regular season wraps up, they will prepare for the postseason. They will have a few days off before beginning postseason play.

Between July 5-9, there will be a tournament in Bear Grass that will host the conference teams.

Out of the nine teams in the conference, the eight best will get to compete in the tournament. The top finishers will move on to Cherryville which will host the state championship tournament.

The state championships will take place from July 15-19. It will have the best teams in the state competing in the tournament to determine the winner. Post 15 hopes to win the conference tournament, make it to Cherryville, and win the entire tournament.
