Mr. Samuel Ross “Sam” Eichelsderfer, 59, of 1607 N.C. Highway 102 West, Chocowinity, died Monday, Jan. 28, 2008, at home.
A private memorial service will be held at a later date.
Mr. Eichelsderfer was born in Binghamton, N.Y., on Oct. 16, 1948. He was the son of the late Windsor Theodore Eichelsderfer and Edna Case Eichelsderfer. He attended Melrose High School in Melrose, Fla. He served in the Navy during the Vietnam War. On Dec. 24, 2003, he married the former Rosetta Brown, who survives. He was self-employed in the drywall business.
Survivors include two daughters, Deanna Babcock of Naylor, Ga., and Robin Chaky of Belleview, Fla.; one stepdaughter, Loleta Sutton of Chocowinity; two brothers, Jim Eichelsderfer of Melrose, Fla., and Bob Joe Eichelsderfer of Franklin; one sister, Joann Welsh of Melrose, Fla.; two grandchildren; four stepgrandchildren and five stepgreat-grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by one brother, David Eichelsderfer; one stepdaughter, Pansyrose Avery and one stepson, Longtree Bland.
The family will receive friends at the home.
