It was a thought, then it was a dream, and you have made it a reality.  I’ve always wanted to write a book and a big thank you to those who have

encouraged me to fulfill my dream.

A big thank you to Washington Daily News Publisher Ashley Vansant, former news editor Vail Rumley and sports editor Steve Barnes, who have published my articles each week.  Ashley and I met in 2017 and he agreed to allow me to write an article each week about a young boy (me) growing up in a small town-my town Washington N.C.

He took a chance on me that I will never forget.  After all, I’m really just a

“ball coach”.  Vail and Steve and my wife Tracey have edited my articles each week and I thank them for making me look good.

This book is a collection of history, family life, people, my high school life

and friends; all of which have influenced my life in some way.  Ladies who helped me and disciplined me when needed, and men whom I admired

growing up in Washington.  Some of whom have sadly passed away at thetiming of this books release.  Many values that are mentioned in my book

have since gone by the wayside.  We could all strive to bring back some

good core values to family life They were the best of times!
