BCSO arrests three for breaking & entering, robbery

On July 24, 2023, at approximately 6:29 p.m., the Beaufort County Sheriff’s Office received a report of a breaking and entering and robbery that occurred at a residence on Whootentown Road in Washington, NC. Deputies responded and learned the victim was assaulted and his wallet was stolen. The victim had minor injuries but refused medical treatment. Deputies conducted interviews and collected evidence.
Around 7:15 p.m., Beaufort County Deputies and NC State Highway Patrol located the suspect vehicle and conducted a traffic stop on Flanders Filters Road in Washington, NC.
As a result of information learned during the investigation, Beaufort County Deputies applied for and obtained arrest warrants charging Startisha Dysha Spencer, 24 years of age, of Trails End South in Washington; Dylan Jay Edwards, 20 years of age, of Staton Mill Road in Greenville; and George Alexander Lopez, 21 years of age, of Melonie Court in Greenville, with one count each of Felonious Breaking and Entering to Terrorize or Injure and Common Law Robbery.
Spencer, Edwards, and Lopez were confined in the Beaufort County Detention Center each under a $75,000 secured bond. Startisha Spencer received an additional $1,000 secured bond for an outstanding Failure to Appear warrant out of Pitt County. Additional charges are expected.
