Naomi Jean Mink, age 86, formerly of Harford County, Maryland, passed away on the morning August 22, 2023, at Manorhouse Assisted Living & Memory Care in Richmond, VA. Born in Joppa MD on January 24, 1937, she was one of eight children born to Isaac Virgil and Anna Mae Wolfe. She was the beloved wife of the late Robert Allen Mink.

As a young woman Jean worked with her siblings in the family grocery store in Coopstown, MD. She met her high school sweetheart Bob Mink at North Harford High, and they married in 1953 and started their family soon after, having six children. Jean loved cutting her family’s hair and after all her children were in school, she went to Cosmetology School and became an Instructor of Cosmetology at the school. Later she owned her own salon “The Hair Stop” in Del Plaza, Bel Air for many successful years before retiring. Not being able to sit still for long, she went on to manage a chain of salons in Maryland, Pennsylvania and Virginia.

Jean and Bob eventually retired to Bath, North Carolina where they built a beautiful waterfront home on Bath Creek, off the Pamlico Sound. They truly loved the town and soon became very involved and active with the townspeople and neighbors as well as Bath Christian Church, which they adored. They loved entertaining, boating, jet skiing, gardening and traveling with their close friends.

In addition to her parents and husband, she was preceded in death by her daughters Robin Ann Mink, Brenda Mink Harrison, and granddaughter Lisa Jean Armstrong. Also preceded by her brothers Fred, Ralph, and Curtis Wolfe; and sisters Dixie McDaniel, Betty Rutherford and Peggy Mion. Her sister Carol Townsley survives her.
