WASHINGTON, NC – Metro Aviation will hold a ribbon cutting ceremony for its new hangar space at Washington-Warren Airport (KOCW) on Thursday, October 12 at 11:30 a.m.
Metro Aviation, based out of Shreveport, Louisiana, was incorporated in 1982 as a helicopter charter, flight training and maintenance operation and now has air medical transport operations throughout the United States.
Metro Aviation provides the heavy maintenance on seven (7) EastCare helicopters stationed and is based at Washington-Warren Airport. Their new and larger hangar space will allow them to expand their operations and hire additional mechanics to work on the helicopters at KOCW.
“The Washington-Warren Airport staff and Authority have worked for several years to make the Airport, not only a “show window” to the City of Washington and Beaufort County, but a hub of economic development and jobs. The recent investments the General Assembly has made in our Airport demonstrate their confidence and support of our efforts, as we work with NCDOT-Aviation, to be the tip of the spear in Advanced Air Mobility efforts in North Carolina. These strides we’ve made would not be possible without the efforts of our Representative, Keith Kidwell,” said Airport Manager Earl Malpass.
The ribbon cutting ceremony will take place at Washington-Warren Airport, located at 200 Airport Road, and is open to the public.
