Metro Aviation opened its new state-of-the-art hangar during a ribbon cutting ceremony at the Washington Warren Airport, Oct. 12. Rep. Keith Kidwell, Mayor Donald Sadler and Airport Director Earl Malpass, among others, highlighted the collaborative efforts that have made this expansion possible. The new hangar is set to bolster Metro Aviation’s capabilities, allowing the team to grow substantially from its current workforce of 17 to a robust team of 48 maintenance and repair professionals at the Washington site.
“This was an opportunity for us to expand and bring in a new refreshment of modern technology in a nice facility to work under for my team,” shared Joel Fisher, Lead Technician for the EastCare Program at Metro Aviation.
Currently, Metro Aviation meticulously maintains seven EastCare helicopters stationed at the Washington Warren Airport. These helicopters are part of the critical care air and ground transport service provided by EastCare, covering regions within 150 miles of Greenville, North Carolina.
