Local veterans, elected officials, and candidates all came together for a Veterans Listening Session on Saturday, Jan. 15, at the American Legion Post 263, in Washington. The nonpartisan event was organized by the chair of the NC Policy and Legislation for the American Legion Auxiliary, Barbara Gaskins.
“It was an opportunity to bring everyone together to discuss current policy priorities for veterans on the state and federal levels and let our veterans’ voices and concerns be heard,” said Gaskins.
Among those in attendance were US Congressmen Greg Murphy, NC-01 and Don Davis, NC-01, and NC Senator Kandie Smith.
