Join us for Home Food Preservation classes taught by Louise Hinsley, Extension Agent, Family Consumer Sciences. The topics are dehydration, pressure canning (low acid foods such as green beans and meats), Jams, Jellies and Soft Spreads (boiling water bath method and freezer jams) and pickles (boiling water bath method and refrigerator pickles). Each class is offered twice with a choice of morning 10 a.m. to 12 p.m. or 6 p.m. to 8 p.m. These classes are free but require registration as each is a demonstration class and you will not be tasting food nor will you be taking food home. You will receive written research based information and recipes from the National Center of Home Food Preservation.
The classes will be held in the teaching kitchen in the Beaufort County Center of N.C. Cooperative Extension located at 155 Airport Road, Washington, NC 27889. You may register online using Eventbrite or using the QR code.
