Girls Soccer: The Lady Raiders went 2-0 with wins over Lawrence Academy and Northside. PCA scored twice in each half for a 4-0 victory over Lawrence. Katie Baxter scored twice and assisted on another goal in the game. Julia Rouse also scored and assisted while Brooklyn Bowes scored a goal.
Monday the Lady Raiders hosted Northside in the first ever soccer match between the two programs. Pungo scored six goals in the first half, three of them by Julia Rouse. Rouse scored again in the second half along with two from Baxter and a first career goal by Ashleigh Wallace for a 10-2 victory. Baxter finished with three goals while Reagan Walker and Autumn Gibbs also added goals. The Raiders host Crossroads Christian on Friday to finish out the regular season.
Baseball: The Raiders picked up wins over Albemarle School and Northeast Academy last week before falling to Lawrence Academy Monday. Evan Woolard went 1 – 1 on the mound while Jackson Walker picked up the win against Northeast. Bo Spencer led PCA with four hits and four RBI in the two wins while Parker Byrd and Spencer were the only two players to get hits against Lawrence Academy. PCA will travel to Lawrence Academy Thursday and head to Kerr Vance Academy Friday.
Softball: The Lady Raiders hit anything and everything against Northeast Academy on Friday rolling to a 20 – 1 victory. The win comes after their first loss of the season at Wayne Christian last week. Joelie Pair led PCA with three hits and three RBI in the win, while EllaKate Hanna had two hits and three RBI. Melanie Rutledge added another home run to her resume with a two run shot in her only at bat of the game. Anna Stoop picked up the win, giving up one hit and one run in five innings pitched. PCA will have a home/home series with Lawrence Academy this week to decide the TIC regular season championship.
Boys Golf: PCA took fourth place at the TIC conference golf match Tuesday with a team score of 153. Harbor Pair shot a season low 48 while Drew Van Staalduinen also shot a season low 49. Maddox Lee rounded out the scoring with a 56 on the day. The Raiders traveled to Beechwood Country Club in Hertford Tuesday for their final match of the season.
