Southside athletes Lelia Jones (L), Eliza Jones and Lilly Davis (R) were among 13 Beaufort County participants in Monday’s Fossil Festival 5K in Aurora. Davis, a Seahawks soccer standout, was the top female finisher in 24:24. Chocowinity’s Bill Cherry won the 60+ division in 24:36, while Jason Williams of Washington finished first in the 50+ age group in 26:37. Other runners included Laura Alligood, Steve Barnes, Benjamine Deck, Amy Martin, James Patterson and Ashley Vansant of Washington, along with Jamie and Jessica Conner of Chocowinity. 72 runners completed the course through downtown Aurora.
