Seven Raiders make All-State

Four Lady Raiders from the 2024 NCISAA 1A girls soccer state championship team were named to the 1A girls All State team. For senior Katie Baxter, it was the third time in her PCA career to be named to the All-State team while Julia Rouse was named for the second. Seniors Autumn Gibbs and Reagan Walker are first-time members. The four All State selections are the most in Pungo Soccer history. Baxter led PCA with 28 goals and 20 assists, while Rouse scored 20 goals. Walker was a key defender, while Gibbs was the goalkeeper.
Melanie Rutledge and EllaKate Hanna represented Pungo Christian Academy on the NCISAA Softball Division III All State Team. For Rutledge, it was the sixth time in her career earning All State, receiving the award each year she played softball since the seventh grade. She led the team with six home runs, batted .414 and drove in 28 runs. Freshman EllaKate Hanna was named All State for the first time in her career after batting .509 with 30 runs scored, 34 RBI and 14 extra base hits, including five triples and four home runs.
Freshman Carr Eagles was also named All State by the NCISAA 1A Baseball coaches. Eagles is a first time All State Selection after batting .351.
Rouse, Hanna and Eagles will return for the Raiders next season while Rutledge, Baxter, Gibbs and Walker end their career on a high note.
