The Greenville United Football Club makes for a great summertime activity for the entire family. The team came together in January of 2020 to give the community a structured soccer club. The team is a part of the National Premier Soccer League (NPSL) and players can try out for the team, but they also recruit players from colleges to give them an option to play and stay active during the summer.
Greenville United FC plays at John Paul II Catholic High School offering something for all ages to enjoy including two bouncy houses for the kids, Italian Ice by East Carolina Italian Ice, a food truck by Carolina Chicken and Waffles, a merchandise stand, and cold drinks by Pitt Street Brewing Company.
“This is a big community event, a lot of people from a variety of different backgrounds come together to play and enjoy the game of soccer,” Director of Football Aaron Okwei said. “We aim to make the experience enjoyable for everyone regardless of your knowledge about soccer”
The club aims to one day have a future of competing in the professional league and put eastern North Carolina on the map. Greenville United FC will host a conference game Saturday against Apotheos FC starting at seven p.m. General admission for ages 13 and older is $10 while ages four to twelve is six dollars. Kids three or younger get in free.
