K-9 Unit locates breaking and entering suspect hiding in residence

On June 20, 2024, Deputies with the Beaufort County Sheriff’s Office responded to a residence on Asbury Trails in Washington for a possible breaking and entering call. The property owner reported that he believed someone was inside the rental property, which was supposed to be vacant.
K-9 Athos immediately located 35-year-old Josue Martinez-Diaz hiding within the residence. Josue was arrested and charged with misdemeanor breaking and entering and placed in the Beaufort County Detention Center under a $500.00 secured bond.
