On June 29, at approximately 2:38 a.m. deputies with the Beaufort County Sheriff’s Office responded to the Happy Daze bar located at 4203 Hwy 17 South in Chocowinity in reference to a report of shots fired outside of the business.

Upon arrival, deputies located a vehicle that was damaged by gunfire and multiple handgun and rifle shell casings on the ground.

The suspect(s) fled the area prior to the deputies’ arrival.  No injuries were reported.  The investigation is ongoing.
