Frances Bass Parrish, age 80 a resident of Bath, died Tuesday July 2, 2024, at her home.
A memorial service will be held on Saturday, July 6, 2024, at 2:00 PM at Bath United Methodist Church with Pastor Karen Pruette officiating. A private inurnment will follow. The family will receive friends one hour prior to the service.
Frances was born on November 12, 1943, in Sampson County to the late Oakel Burnis Bass and Anna Frances Jones Bass. She was a 1962 graduate of Southern Durham High School. Frances was retired as a Librarian and a member of Bath United Methodist Church. Frances was a woman of great faith, who devoted countless hours to her church and community. She especially cherished her involvement with Pamlico Emmaus Community. She dearly loved to travel across the country and around the world, especially summer road trips with the three “P’s.” Frances loved being on the water, genealogy, music, and Bible study.
Survivors include her husband, Ronald Terry Parrish of the home, sons, Terry Parrish (Lee) of Kannapolis, Frank Parrish (Cindy) of Salisbury, Doug Parrish (Rhonda) of Greenville and Rob Parrish (Mayumi) of Greensboro, brother, John W. Bass (Rose) of Apopka, FL, nine grandchildren and one great grandchild.
In lieu of flowers memorial contributions may be made to Methodist Home for Children, 1041 Washington Street, Raleigh, NC 27605, or St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital, 501 St. Jude Place, Memphis, TN 38105.
