Former Washington High School standout and current Duke University football player Terry Moore is hosting his Dream Big football camp again this month.

The camp will be Saturday, July 27 from 10 a.m. to 12 p.m. at Kugler Field in Washington and is free to any area youngster who wants to improve their skills under the watchful eye of one of the Pam Pack’s all-time greatest players.

Moore ran for 4,935 yards in his three seasons and scored 58 total touchdowns, with 2,089 yards and 39 TDs in his senior year. He graduated in December of 2021 so he could enroll for the spring semester at Duke and participate in spring football practice.

The Blue Devils moved him to free safety after his freshman season and he started almost every game at that spot last fall until an ankle injury against North Carolina limited his effectiveness in the last three games.

More than 75 youngsters turned out for his first Dream Big camp last year on a sweaty Saturday morning at Kugler Field and registration is open for this year’s event.

“Last year was a lot of fun and it made me realize that I have to set a good example all the time because the younger kids look up to me,” Moore said. “I was in their shoes playing on that field (in the Washington Youth Football League) and it means a lot to me to do something for a community that did so much for me. The camp gives kids a chance to get out of the house, compete and have fun.”

The camp will include instruction in football fundamentals from Moore and several guest instructors that last year included former Pam Pack teammates and coaches along with current Duke teammates.
Moore said there will be position-specific drills divided by age group, competitive drills and one-on-one opportunities.

“I chose the name Dream Big because I want kids to know that they can achieve their dreams no matter where they are from,” Moore said. “Kids from this area often get overlooked to play college football, but I want them to understand anything is possible if you keep your head down and work hard.”

Registration for Terry Moore’s Dream Big football camp is open at tciketleap.events. The camp is free, but registration is required. Moore also encourages campers to bring canned food that will be donated to local homeless shelters.
