Whitecaps rout Frogs in finale

The combined Washington Whitecaps/Minges Makos summer youth swim team cruised past the Greenville Country Club Frogs, 684-421 in the last regular season meet.
Anna Brey Pake led the girls with victories in the 14u 100-individual medley (1:01.74) and the 50-breaststroke (33.03). She was also part of the winning mixed 200-medley relay (1:56.61) and took second in the 50freestyle (24.09)
Wallace Atkins won the girls 8u 25-freestyle (16.44) and the 25-backstroke (18.79) and was part of the first place mixed 100-freestyle relay (1:07.59).
She also finished third in the 25-breaststroke (27.16).
Lillian Russell was part of the winning 10u mixed 200-freestyle relay (2:17.07), finished second in the 50-breaststroke (51.40), third in the 50-freestyle (33.18) and was six in the 50-backstroke (51.23)
Ali Fowler was second in the 12u 50-breastroke (37.95), third in the 50-freestyle (28.03) and fifth in the 50-backstroke (36.34)
Aubrey Makepeace was part of the second-place 12u mixed 200-freestyle relay (1:49.87) and finished second in the 50-freestyle (26.47). She was third in the 50-breaststroke (38.16) and the 50-butterfly (31.02).
Penelope Yaryan Valverde was fourth in the 6u 25-backstroke (43.86) and the 25-freestyle (38.07) and part of the third-place mixed 200 freestyle relay (3:39.94)
Naomi Fowler was part of the second-place 12u mixed 200-medley relay and was seventh in the 50-freestyle (35.32) and the 50-breaststroke (48.93)
On the boys side, Cole Blanks won the 12u 100-individual medley (1:03.78), the 50-backstroke (30.45), finished second in the 50-freestyle (25.52) and was part of the winning mixed 200-medley relay (1:55.36).
Lucas Blanks won the 8u 25-backstroke (18.57) and was part of the first-place mixed 100- freestyle relay (1:07.59). He finished third in the 25-breaststroke and in the 25-freestyle (18:71)
Camden Hamilton was part of the winning 12u mixed 200 freestyle relay (1:44.02) and finished third in the 50-freestyle (27.56), 50-backstroke (33.94) and the 50-breaststroke (35.85).
Jordan Truesdell was part of the runner-up 12u mixed freestyle relay (1:49.87), was fourth in the 50-breaststroke (33.03) and 50-butterfly (40.620 and finished fifth in the 50-freestyle (31.86)
Grover Russell was third in the 8u 25-backstroke (30.10), sixth in the 25-freestyle (24.38) and was part of the third-place mixed 200-freestyle relay (3:39.94)
The Whitecaps/Makos wrap up the season Saturday at the state tournament in Tarboro.
