The Down East Wood Ducks are a minor league, single-A affiliate of the Texas Rangers in Kinston, NC. The team has been in Kinston since April of 2017 and are currently in their final season before they move to Spartanburg for the spring of 2025.
The team plays in Historic Grainger Stadium, with an average attendance of around 1,300. The Wood Ducks are one of 11 major league affiliates to play in Grainger Stadium since the stadium opened in 1949.
The Wood Ducks offer a unique gameday experience with a different promotion every game day. Whether you are sitting in the stands close to the field, the bleachers on the third base line, or in the Mother Earth Pavilion for larger groups the Wood Ducks have something for everyone to enjoy. On the first base line, the Wood Ducks have concessions and a kids play area for the younger audience.
General Manager Jon Clemmons compliments the fans’ knowledge and passion for the team. “The fan base we have built here is an experienced, knowledgeable fan base that knows the product on the field very well,” Clemmons said. “These fans are into the game until the very last out.”
Sitting at a record of 20-15 on a 10-game winning streak, the Wood Ducks offer quality baseball sitting in third place in the Carolina League North division. The Wood Ducks have three home stretches left before the regular season ends against Myrtle Beach, Delmarva, and Augusta.
They will offer the chance on September 6 to witness the presentation of the Texas Rangers World Series Trophy followed by postgame fireworks. With ticket prices varying you can find more information on their website.
