Mrs. Jean Arthur Cutler Boykin, age 78, a resident of Blounts Creek, NC died Wednesday August 28, 2024, at Carolina East Regional Medical Center in New Bern.
A funeral service will be held at 3:00 p.m. Sunday September 1, 2024, at Paul Funeral Home & Crematory of Washington officiated by Jeff Harris. A private burial will be later for immediate family members. The family will receive friends from 2:00 p.m. until the service starts at the funeral home and other times at the home.

Mrs. Jean was born in Beaufort County on November 22, 1945, daughter of the late John Arthur Cutler and the late Ella Lee Moore Cutler. She was a 1963 graduate of Chocowinity High School. She married Little Jimmy Boykin who preceded her in death on April 27, 2012. After many years as an employee of Washington and Williamston Walmart she retired as an assistant manager. Her hobbies were spending time at the beach, collecting shells, her grandchildren, antiques and collecting old bottles. Her love of antiques prompted her and her sister Ann to open Gold Trim Antiques and collectibles which was located in Blounts Creek. She was originally a member of Ephesus Free Will Baptist Church and had been attending Southpoint Community Church when her health permitted.

Survivors include her children: L. Jimmie Boykin, Jr. and his wife Christy of Chocowintiy, and Sara Jaclyn Boykin Benish and her husband Jeremy of Blounts Creek; step-daughter: Juanita Michell Boykin Miller and her husband John of Jacksonville, FL; sister: Anne Cutler Crumpler of Blounts Creek; grandchildren: Dustin Moore, Alyssa Moore, Kaleigh Clarke, Jack Camden Jones, Zachary Clarke, Jorden Clark, Jaden Clark, Isabella Grace Boykin, and Holden Tyler Boykin; and great-grandchildren: Harper Jo Moore and Ridge Allen Hudnell.

Mrs. Jean was predeceased, along with her parents and husband, by a son: Jeffrey Bryan Jones; a step-son Anthony Boykin; and a brother-in-law: Melvin Douglas Crumpler.
