From the National Weather Service:
Helene will move into the Tennessee Valley today and extend a heavy rain band across Eastern North Carolina. This rain band will generate a quick period of moderate to heavy rain with scattered embedded tornadoes possible. Communities south of Highway 70 are of greatest concern, but all of Eastern North Carolina has the potential to see severe weather today. Severe weather is expected to occur between 11 a.m. and 5 p.m. today in Beaufort County.
