Murphy Jackson Hopkins, Jr., age 75, a resident of Pamlico Beach, NC passed away Wednesday, October 2, 2024 at ECU Health Beaufort Hospital.

A funeral service will be held 2:00 PM Sunday October 6, 2024, in the Chapel of Paul Funeral Home of Belhaven and will be officiated by Pastor Ron Bousquet. Burial will follow in Pamlico Beach Community Cemetery at Ryder Hill. Pallbearers include Tony Casper, Daniel Woolard, Christian Foster, Eddie Foster, McKinley Foster, and James Hopkins.

Mr. Hopkins was born in Beaufort County on July 10, 1949 to the late Murphy J. Hopkins and Margaret Daniels Hopkins. He was a commercial fisherman and owned and operated Hopkins Seafood. On January 23, 1970, he married Carolyn Sue Casper.

Survivors include five children, Ronnie Lester Hopkins and wife Jennifer, Debbie Hopkins Foster, Dwayne Jackson Hopkins, George Murphy Hopkins and wife Crystal, Brian Anthony Hopkins and fiancé Destinee, all of Belhaven, nine grandchildren, James Hopkins, Megan Hopkins, Brittany Woolard, Christian Foster, Emmah Hopkins, Luke Hopkins, Jack Hopkins, Alayna Hopkins, Mia Hopkins, and three great grandchildren, Layla, Grayson, and Reed.

He is preceded in death by his wife, Carolyn Sue Hopkins, two brothers, James Robert Hopkins, and Levi Paul Hopkins.

The family will receive friends from 6:00PM until 8:00 PM Saturday October 5, 2024 at Paul Funeral Home Belhaven.
