Peggy L. Latham passed away Monday, October 14, 2024, at ECU Inpatient Hospice in Greenville at the age of 79.

Funeral services were held Thursday, October 17, 2024, at 2:00 PM at the Alligood Church of God. Pastor Gary Bateman officiated. Wendell Carawan, Lavern Morris, Floyd Sutton Jr., Robert Hedgepeth, Bernie Jones, and Craig Godley served as pallbearers.

The visitation was held Thursday, October 17, 2024, at 1:00 PM at the Alligood Church of God.

The family also received visitors at the home from 4:00 PM to 8:00 PM at 8833 US Hwy 264 E, Washington, NC 27889.

Peggy was born on October 26, 1944, in Beaufort County, to the late Woodrow Wilson Linton and Ruby P. Linton. She attended Washington High School. On August 9, 2002, she married Phillip Paul Latham. Peggy was an associate at Walmart where she retired in 2009. She was a member of the Alligood Church of God.

Peggy was preceded in death by her husband, Dalton Ray Sutton, a son, Terry Ray Sutton and a brother, Jesse Wilson Linton.

Survivors include her husband, Phillip Paul Latham of the home, daughter, Olivia Ann Smith (Paul) of Freemont, son, Timothy Ray Sutton of Washington, grandson, Timothy Aaron Sutton (Hayley) of Washington, great granddaughter, Susanna Lee Sutton, stepdaughter, Summer Latham of Greenville, and step-grandson, Jared Carver of Greenville.
