The first set of team state playoff brackets were released with the details on the girls dual team tennis.

The process began on Monday and first included automatic qualifiers. From there, the at-large teams were chosen through the NC High School Athletic Association via a PRI ranking.

With just 16 teams chosen instead of the traditional 32 for the postseason, that means fewer clubs would get in. Southside did not make the dual team playoffs. Lejeune, which won the Coastal Plains Conference regular season, did make it.

Senior-led Pack aspiring for more in individual, dual team tennis playoffs

In Class 2-A, the traditional playoff format is in place, meaning more teams can get in. Washington, which finished second in the Eastern Plains Conference, earned the No. 13 seed and will host No. 20 Goldsboro on Monday. The winner will travel to No. 4 Roanoke Rapids on Wednesday.

The regional finals are on Nov. 5 with the state finals following on Nov. 9.
