TW Allen
Residence: Pinetown
Highest level of education: 2-year College
Occupation: Manager of Engineering and Edge of Grid Assets
Political affiliation: Republican
Personal statement:
TW Allen is a 47-year resident of the Belhaven area. I am running for District 3 Beaufort County School Board. I currently serve as Chairman of the School Board. I have worked at Tideland EMC for 27 years and am currently the Manager of Engineering and Edge of Grid Assets. I believe that we have the best teachers, principals and staff at Beaufort County Schools. These staff members work tirelessly to educate the scholars of Beaufort County. I believe we should have our students ready for the three E’s: Enlistment, Employment, or Education at a College. I voted for the NO CRT policy in the school system, and worked to secure a $42 million dollar grant to build a new school in the county. I believe in parents’ rights for their children’s education. As a Board member, I worked hard with staff after COVID to get children back into the classroom face to face and get the children caught back up. Beaufort County Schools is no longer a low performing district and Northeast, Bath, and Northside all have C or higher school scores. I am a conservative Republican and have been my whole life. On November 5th I would appreciate your vote.
David Hudson
Residence: Belhaven
Highest level of education: BA in History and German from The Citadel
Occupation: Co-owner of HudsonMann Publishing LLC
Political affiliation: Unaffiliated
Personal statement:
My name is David Hudson, a father of three children currently attending Beaufort County schools. I am running for the Beaufort County School Board, District 3, position which covers eastern Beaufort County including Belhaven, Pantego, and North Creek precincts.
As a CONSERVATIVE, unaffiliated candidate, my goal is to bring increased transparency, integrity, and accountability to the Beaufort County School Board, utilizing more open and effective communication and community involvement. Our county schools are under siege from a progressive agenda that is allowing more than two genders to be taught and sought to acquire a social studies curriculum that was being requested with a block of instruction on “How to dispute the church.” I believe that all external politics should be removed from the classroom, such as the progressive “woke” curriculum. Our children should be learning what makes us the same as Americans, not focus on our differences. Additionally, our students are struggling with rampant bullying. Our teachers in turn deal with disrespectful students and have been assaulted by students in the classroom. These are just symptoms of a School Board that displays a lack of respect for parental rights and provides NO accountability for the School Superintendent.
