Washington pair arrested on gun, drug charges

Pitt County, N.C. – On October 25, 2024, the Pitt County Sheriff’s Office concluded a two-week investigation into a shooting that occurred at 220 Jimmy Ln. on October 9,
2024. The investigation ended when detectives from the Gang and Gun, Special Operations, and Major Crimes Units along with deputies from the Uniform Patrol Unit executed a search warrant at the residence located at 220 Marva Dr. in Washington (Pitt County portion).
After the execution of the search warrant, 19-year-old Zyere Godley of Washington was arrested in connection with the shooting on jimmy Ln. Godley was charged with Discharge Weapon into Occupied Property, Felony Conspiracy, and Injury to Personal Property. He was denied bond due to the charges and remains in custody at the Pitt County Detention Center.
23-year-old Dominic Maurizzio of the searched residence in Washington was also arrested. He was charged with Possession with Intent to Sell/Deliver Marijuana.
Dominic was initially denied bond due to pending charges for an unrelated shooting that occurred in Wake County in September 2022. During a first appearance hearing later in the morning, he was granted a $5,000 secured bond. He has not posted bond and remains in custody at the Pitt County Detention Center.
During the search of the residence, detectives seized several firearms, large amounts of ammunition, large amounts of gun parts, and 35.3 grams of marijuana.
More charges are expected.
