Duke’s Terry Moore and N.C. State’s Walt Gerard played football together at Washington High School. Last Saturday, they were on opposite sides of the field during Duke’s 29-19 win over N.C. State.

Gerard saw playing time but did not record any stats. Moore had four tackles, three of them solo, and his third interception of the season. He also had a pass breakup.

Moore now has three interceptions, which leads the team, to go with 56 total tackles, 38, for the season.

KaNyah O’Neal, Southside
O’Neal started both games for Fayetteville State, which won the Shippensburg Classic. In a 72-48 win over Shippensburg, O’Neal had eight points and four rebounds. In a 61-37 win over Kutztown, she had five points and two steals. The Broncos are ranked No. 10 is the WBCA Division II preseason coaches top 25 poll.
Reagan Stoop, Pungo Christian
Bridgewater recorded three wins in the past week, beating Ferrum, Shenandoah and Randolph. She had 19 kills, 5 blocks and 11 digs against Ferrum. In the win over Shenandoah, she had 17 kills and eight digs. In the win over Randolph, she had 23 kills, two blocks and 17 digs. The Eagles are 21-6 overall, 10-2 in the Old Dominion Athletic Conference heading into this week’s league tournament.

Bam Adebayo, Northside
The Miami Heat have been struggling lately, winning just once (95-94 over Minnesota) over the past four games. Adebayo had a high of 20 points, 9 rebounds and 4 assists in a loss to Denver. He had a week high of 12 rebounds to go with 12 points and six assists in a loss to Phoenix. In the win over Minnesota, he had 9 points, 7 rebounds, 7 assists and three blocks. The Heat are 4-5 overall but do lead the Southeast Division, which also consists of the Charlotte Hornets. Bam has also been mentioned in trade rumors involving Portland and Milwaukee but continues to play for the Heat.

The junior wide receiver played but did not record any stats for Chowan’s football team in a 21-3 win over Erskine.
