Tip leads to arrest of breaking-and-entering suspects

The Beaufort County Sheriff’s Office received reports of multiple vehicle break-ins between Dec. 6 and Dec. 9 in the areas of Turkey Trot Road, South Asbury Church Road and Magnolia School Road in Washington. Deputies with the Beaufort County Sheriff’s Office increased patrols in the areas while the cases were investigated by detectives.

On Dec. 10, patrol deputies responded to a residence on Camel Drive where they located and arrested 27-year-old Adian Israel Cruz-Osorio and 30-year-old Derick Andrew Cannon. These arrests were made possible in part by tip information received through Beaufort County Crime Stoppers.

Adian Israel Cruz-Osorio was charged with two counts of Felony Break/Enter a Motor Vehicle. Adian was held in the Beaufort County Detention Center without benefit of bond due to being out on bond for previous charges at the time of his arrest.

Derick Andrew Cannon was charged with two counts of Felony Break/Enter a Motor Vehicle and one count of Misdemeanor Larceny. Derick was held in the Beaufort County Detention Center without benefit of bond due to being out on bond for previous charges at the time of his arrest.

The investigation is ongoing and additional charges are expected.
