The Beaufort County Sheriff’s Office has identified a female victim from a death investigation from Jan. 28.
The woman was 46-year-old, Amberly Michelle Bell of Washington. The cause of death remains undetermined, pending results from the Medical Examiner’s Office.
On Tuesday, January 28, 2025 at approximately 12:24 PM, the Beaufort County Sheriff’s Office received a report of an unresponsive person at 2048 Robersonville Rd. in Washington. Deputies from the Beaufort County Sheriff’s Office and personnel from Beaufort County EMS, Chocowinity EMS, and Clark’s Neck Fire Department responded to the scene and began providing life saving measures on Bell. She was declared deceased after life-saving efforts failed.
Bell and her son, Brady O’Neil Daniels, were arrested and charged on June 5, 2024 with insurance fraud and attempting to obtain property by false pretenses. Daniels was charged with two counts of insurance fraud and two counts of attempting to obtain property by false pretense. Both were insurance agents.
Special agents with the Department of Insurance’s Criminal Investigations Division accuse Daniels of filing a fraudulent $725 tow bill claim with Discovery Insurance, with Bell supporting his claim. After Discovery denied the claim, Daniels filed another claim for the tow bill with Progressive Insurance, according to special agents. The offense occurred on March 11.
This is the second death at 2048 Robersonville Rd which is a residence. In May of 2023, the sheriff’s office reported that a man with a gunshot wound was found deceased at the location. The man was Billy Joe Bell, 52. It was considered an isolated incident.
