Simpkins faces drug charges

On July 19, investigators with the Beaufort County Sheriff’s Office’s narcotics unit arrested David Earl Simpkins, 31, of 3447 River Road, Washington.
Investigators executed a search warrant at Simpkins’ residence after Simpkins received 140 grams of marijuana from a package-delivery service, according to the sheriff’s office.
Simpkins was in the process of weighing and repackaging the marijuana when investigators executed the search warrant. Simpkins was charged with possession with intent to sell and deliver marijuana, felony possession of marijuana and possession of drug paraphernalia.
Simpkins was confined in the Beaufort County Detention Center under a $20,000 secured bond.
