CHESAPEAKE, Va. - Shirley B. Waters, 71, of the 1300 block of Yeadon Road, passed away on February 27, 2008 in Norfolk. A native of Yeatesville, NC, she was the daughter of the late Paul L. Barrett, Sr. and Helen Brooks Barrett and wife of the late Arthur T. Waters, Jr.
She is survived by two sons, A.T. Waters, III and his wife, Gloria and Stacey Lane Waters, all of Chesapeake; three sisters, Pauline Ange and Betty Haughton, both of Greenville, N.C., and Mary Helen Cox and her husband, Clifton Ray of Fairfield, N.C.; two brothers, Paul L. Barrett, Jr. and his wife, Ann of Bath, N.C., and Wayne Douglas Barrett and his wife, Cecelia of Mechanicsville, Va.; two grandsons, Arthur T. Waters, IV and Thomas Paul Leo Waters, both of Chesapeake; and many nieces, nephews, grandnieces, and grandnephews.
A graveside service will be held on Saturday at 1 p.m. in the Waters Family Cemetery, Pinetown, N.C., with Pastor Lee Godfrey officiating.
