GREENVILLE, NC — Eva Mae Jessup, 101, died March 3, 2008 at the home of her daughter.
A memorial service will be held Friday at 10:30 in St. James United Methodist Church, followed by a reception. A private interment will be held in Kennett Square, Pa. at a later date.
Eva Mae was born on January 24, 1907 in Washington, D.C. to Charles and Ella Murray. She spent her married life in Swarthmore, Pa. She attended Juanita College and received her RN training at Sibley Memorial Hospital in Washington, D.C. She and her widowed sister, Gladys Fahrney, lived together in Frederick, Md. for 40 years. At the death of her sister, she moved to Greenville to live with her daughter, Kathie Harvey.
She was preceded in death by her husband of 26 years, Harlan R. Jessup.
She is survived by her: daughters, Kathie Harvey and husband, Hank, of Greenville, and Martha Webster and husband, Allen, of Burlington, Vt.; son, nine grandchildren; eight great-grandchildren; and several nieces and nephews.
In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to St. James United Methodist Church, 2000 E. 6th St., Greenville, NC 27858, or Calvary United Methodist Church, 131 W. 2nd St., Frederick, MD 21701.
