Mrs. Marjorie Lilley “Margie” Bowen, 80, of Plymouth, died Sunday, March 9, 2008, at Pitt County Memorial Hospital, Greenville.
Born March 29, 1927, in Martin County, she was the daughter of the late Grover C. and Ruth Roberson Lilley and was preceded in death by her first husband, Walter G. Davis Sr., and sisters, Marie L. Horner and Leona L. Decato. Mrs. Bowen was a retired sales specialist with Leggett’s Department Stores and member of Plymouth Church of Christ.
Her family includes her husband, Luther W. Bowen; daughters, Linda D. Hassell and husband Gene of Columbia, N.C., LuRee D. Harrison and husband Paul of Plymouth, N.C., and Kim D. Sisson and husband Dean of Lynchburg, Va.; son, Walter G. Davis Jr. and wife Flo of Boone, N.C.; sister, Shirley L. Shelton of Butler, Ala.; brothers, G. Cecil Lilley, Sr. of Columbia, N.C., Robert Lilley of Carmichael, Calif., and William Lilley of Kernersville, N.C.; grandchildren, Brooke H. Jones, R. Marshall Sisson, Nancy Davis and Will Davis; step-grandchildren, Gene Hassell Jr., Derek Hassell, Hayley H. Floyd and six step-great-grandchildren.
Funeral service will be held Friday, March 14, 2008, at 11 a.m. in the Plymouth Church of Christ with Bob Moulden officiating. Burial will follow in Jamesville Cemetery. Family will receive friends on Friday, March 14, 2008, following the service and other times at the residence. Arrangements are by Maitland Funeral Home, Creswell.
