Mr. Harold Jackson Rose, Sr. age 89, formerly of the Bayview Community, died Tuesday evening, March 18, 2008 at Britthaven of Washington.
A graveside service will be held 11 a.m. Friday March 21, 2008 at the Bayview Cemetery officiated by Pastor David Linton. George Linton, Dallas Linton, Jimmy Foreman, Ricky Sprouse, Clifton Fulford and Macon Williams will serve as pallbearers. Daniel Rose will serve as an honorary pallbearer.
Mr. Rose was born in Beaufort County on April 30, 1918, son of the late Jep Rose and Mary Duke Rose. On November 29, 1944, he married the former Phelishea Elizabeth Jefferson who preceded him in death on October 2, 1995. Mr. Rose was owner of Rose Marine Construction. He was a member of St. Clair’s Church of Christ.
He is survived by his children: Billy Rose and his wife, Sherry of Washington; John T. Rose of Pantego; Shirley R. Williams and her husband, Ray of Duck Creek and Barbara Sprouse of Washington; his brother: James Carrowan of the state of Washington; nine grandchildren; 18 great grandchildren and one great great grandchild. In addition to his wife and parents, he is preceded in death by his son: Harold “Jackie” Rose Jr., his brother: Joyner Rose; his sister: Thelma Pauls and four grandchildren: Lisa Kay Rose, Michael Rose, Murrell Fulford, Jr. and Benji Fulford.
The family will receive friends from 7 p.m. until 9 p.m. Thursday, March 20, 2008 at Paul Funeral Home and other times at the home of Shirley Williams, 254 Duck Creek Rd. Washington.
