Mr. Loma M. Bonner

Mr. Loma Myers Bonner, age 84, a resident of 3828 Robin Road, Ayden, died Wednesday, Aug. 3, 2011.
Memorial services will be at 11 a.m. Saturday, Aug. 6, 2011, at Paul Funeral Home & Crematory and will be conducted by the Rev. Grant Carter and the Rev. Ray Bonner. Kevin Bonner, Joey Pietro, Buyrl Ewing, Hartford Honeycutt Sr., Chad Matta and Chuck Bonner will serve as honorary pallbearers.
Mr. Bonner was born on April 10, 1927, in Washington County to the late Roy Tut and Ella Peal Bonner. He married Virginia Voliva who preceded him in death. On Oct. 15, 1989, he married Doris M. Paul who survives. He was a graduate of Aurora High School. He then served in the United States Army and was a general foreman with Texas Gulf, retiring with over 20 years of service. Mr. Bonner was a member of Winterville Baptist Church.
Survivors include his wife, Doris M. Bonner of the home, two sons, Rev. Ray Bonner and wife Scarlet of La Grange, Terry Bonner and wife Sandra of Farmville, two daughters, Ruth Schmitt and husband Rodney of Washington, Marsha Abernethy and husband Bruce of Winterville, one brother, Roy Bonner of Texas, one sister, Kathryn Davis and husband Bill of Chapel Hill, six grandchildren, six great-grandchildren and one great-great-grandchild.
The family will receive friends following the service at the funeral home.
