Roy Wilson, CEO of East Carolina Behavioral Health, announces East Carolina Behavioral Health will create 120 new jobs in eastern North Carolina.
The new jobs will be added over the next six months as ECBH prepares to implement the state’s Medicaid waiver program for mental health, developmental disabilities, and substance abuse services. Statewide implementation of the waiver is required by legislation enacted this year by the General Assembly. ECBH will implement the waiver April 1, 2012.
ECBH is responsible for managing behavioral health and developmental disability services in 19 counties in eastern North Carolina: Beaufort, Bertie, Camden, Chowan, Craven, Currituck, Dare, Gates, Hertford, Hyde, Jones, Martin, Northampton, Pamlico, Pasquotank, Perquimans, Pitt, Tyrrell and Washington counties. Many of the 120 new jobs to be filled will be field-based staff, meaning the people hired will be able to live anywhere in the 19-county region.
The new positions will be added between this month and February 2012. For information on job postings, visit the ECBH web site: www.ecbhlme.org.
