Mr. Artis Earl Gorham, 61, of Potomac, Md., and formerly of Washington, died Sunday, March 16, 2003, at home.
A funeral will be conducted at 2 p.m. Saturday in Beebe Memorial C.M.E. Church, Washington, with the Rev. Edward Moultrie officiating. Burial will follow in Cedar Hill Cemetery, Washington.
Mr. Gorham was born in Beaufort County on July 7, 1941. He was the son of Georgia Collins Gorham and the late John Gorham Jr. He was a 1959 graduate of P.S. Jones High School, Washington. He was married to Ariston King Gorham, who survives.
Survivors include one daughter, Vonnie Gorham of San Diego, Calif.; one stepdaughter, Patricia Bailey of Stafford, Va.; two sons, Artis Gorham Jr. of San Diego, Calif., and Timothy Gorham of New York, N.Y.; one stepson, Harry Langley Jr. of Clayton; two brothers, Samuel Gorham of Washington and Reginald Gorham of Hawaii; three sisters, Helen Jean Guthrie of Washington, Barbara Holloway of Greenville and Joneice G. Carroll of Washington; and eight grandchildren.
The family will receive friends at the home of his mother, 818 Respess St., Washington.
Arrangements are by Randolph Funeral Home, 219 N. Bonner St., Washington.
