George W. Moore Sr.

Mr. George Wesley Moore Sr., of 7742 U.S. Highway 17 North, Washington, died Thursday, April 24, 2008.
A funeral will be held on Monday at 2 p.m. at the Deeper Life Ministries Church with the Rev. Julius Phillips officiating. Burial will follow at the George-Nevada cemetery.
Mr. Moore was born on Aug. 8, 1954, in Beaufort County. He was the son of Amanda Moore, who survives, and the late William Moore. He was a graduate of Beaufort County public schools in 1972. He attended Beaufort County Community College. He retired from the National Spinning Company after 32 years of employment. He later worked for Stanadyne Corp. He was a member of Emmanuel Tabernacle Church of God in Christ. On June 24, 2000, Mr. Moore married the former Nevada Campbell, who survives.
Survivors include three daughters, Katrina Williams of Raleigh, Tikishia Skinner of Grimesland and Zanika Moore of Washington; one son, George W. Moore Jr. of Washington; two stepsons, Michael Marsha and William Marsha of the home; one sister, Carolyn Faison of Chocowinity; six brothers; William Arthur Moore Jr. of New York, N.Y., Haywood Moore and Michael Alan Moore of Washington, Joseph Moore Sr., David Moore Sr. and Moses Reddick Sr. of Chocowinity; 10 grandchildren and one great-grandchild.
He was preceded in death by a sister, Linda Keyes.
A viewing will be held today from 1 p.m. to 7 p.m. at Randolph Funeral Home, 219 N. Bonner St., Washington, which is in charge of arrangements. The family will receive friends at the home.
