Ms. Esther Wade Batchelor, age 67, of 1139 Full Moon Road, Creedmoor, died at home on Friday, March 21, 2003, after a lengthy illness.
Ms. Batchelor was born in Roxboro but had lived in Creedmoor since 1984. She was the daughter of the late Ivin Wade and Cora Atkins Wade. Ms. Batchelor retired from the Durham Police Department as a CID secretary.
She is survived by a daughter, Tracy Andrews of Creedmoor; three sisters, Helen Mendenahall of Archdale, Gail Craven of Randleman and Annette Gardner of Columbia; two grandchildren, Brenn Andrews and Brandon Andrews.
Memorial services will be held Sunday at 7 p.m. at Hudson Funeral Home, Granville Chapel, 2589 W. Lyon Station Road, Creedmoor. Pastor Lenny Rogers will officiate.
The family will receive friends Sunday from 6-7 p.m. at Hudson Funeral Home. Flowers are acceptable.
