Mrs. Audrey Gray Rodman Windley Howard, 88, of 124 E. Martin Luther King Jr. Drive, Washington, died Monday, May 19, 2008, at Beaufort County Hospital in Washington.
A funeral will be conducted at 12:30 p.m. Saturday in Word of Life Worship Center, Washington, with Bishop Aaron McCarter officiating. Burial will follow in Oakdale Cemetery, Washington.
Mrs. Howard was born in Beaufort County on May 9, 1920. She was the daughter of the late Arnecie McCullough Rodman and William Thomas Rodman Sr. She attended the Beaufort County Schools. She was married to Leroy Windley Sr., who preceded her in death. She later married Mayhue Howard, who also preceded her in death. She had worked with the Blue Channel Co. of Belhaven. She was a member of Word of Life Worship Center, Washington, where she served on the Mother Board.
Survivors include three daughters, Sandra G. Windley and Glenda Ann Windley, both of the home, and Patricia McCarter of Grimesland; one stepdaughter, Addie M. Clark of Belhaven; one daughter-in-kind, Darlene Hawks of Washington; seven sons, Vernon Windley of Norfolk, Va., Earl Thomas Windley of Ossining, N.Y., James L. Windley, Willie F. Windley and Kenneth Windley, all of Baltimore, Md., and Leroy Windley Jr. and Larry Windley, both of Washington; two sisters, Cora Lee Jenkins of Jacksonville, and Emma L. Peterson of New York; one brother, James Rodman of New York; 30 grandchildren; 30 great-grandchildren and 10 great-great-grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by one brother, William T. Rodman, and one stepson, Kenneth Howard.
The family will receive friends at the home.
